Recently, Lintratek‘s engineering team completed a unique tunnel project in a high-rainfall drainage tunnel in southern China. This drainage tunnel is located in the depth of 40 meters underground. The mobile signal booster project for tunnel

This installation case is located in the Yuexiu District of Guangzhou and is managed by the Guangzhou government. The drainage tunnel requires maintenance personnel to regularly inspect it. To enhance communication quality between the inspection personnel and the surface, as well as to ensure their safety, mobile signal coverage within the tunnel is essential.
Upon receiving the task, Lintratek’s technical team visited the site and designed a solution using high-power cell phone signal repeaters and panel antennas to transmit signals. Given that the project is located in an underground drainage tunnel with high humidity, the products required excellent anti-corrosion and sealing performance. Lintratek’s technical team applied anti-corrosion treatment to the antennas and connectors.
The main system uses a 20W multi-band commercial signal booster. The KW35A, with its IP40 waterproof rating, can operate in humid environments for extended periods.
Panel Antennas
For outdoor signal reception, panel antennas are used to receive signals from the base station.
Inside the drainage tunnel, the same type of panel antennas are used to provide signal coverage. These indoor panel antennas and connectors are equipped with waterproof protection, significantly extending the product’s lifespan.
Installation Complete
After installation and debugging, the strength of signal inside the drainage tunnel is strong, covering approximately 600 meters of the tunnel. Staff tested the signal with their mobile phones, achieving full bars, with excellent network connectivity and call quality.
